Proxy Launches Their Digital Identity Network, Industrial Design by Bould Design
Proxy has developed a safe, secure digital identity system for unlocking doors and a multitude of experiences. It’s simple. A mobile app activates BLE on a smartphone allowing Proxy sensor devices to identify users and unlock doors wherever secure access is needed. Imagine going to work or entering a hotel room and not needing a key card.
These scenarios are just the beginning, and with a $13.6M funding round led by Kleiner Perkins, Proxy envisions an ecosystem of smartphone-enabled experiences around safety, commerce and convenience. First responders to an emergency could get a read on who’s in a building and where. Hotel rooms automatically adjust the temperature and lighting to your liking. When you enter your local coffee shop, your favorite brew is queued up. All of these are possible with Proxy. Just one app enables multiple access experiences. Proxy CEO Denis Mars projects “Your car, your home, all your devices. All these things are going to ask ‘can I sense you and do something useful for you?’ ”
The Proxy hardware consists of two wall readers, the Proxy Mobile Reader Pro and the Proxy Mobile Reader Edge. The Pro works with existing installed entry systems and also accepts existing key cards and fobs. The Edge system installs without the need for a pre-existing wired system to quickly deliver the seamless Proxy experience.
Proxy tapped Bould Design early in their development to visualize and help communicate their concept and then came back for the full design development when they were ready. The Proxy readers were designed to elegantly express the Proxy brand and complement modern architectural elements. The unique, upbeat form factors work well in both interior and exterior contexts. The Proxy readers are defining the future of access.
