R-Zero Raises $15 Million Series A to Bring Affordable, Hospital-Grade Disinfection to Schools and Businesses Large and Small

R-Zero has announced $15 million series A funding. As a start-up dedicated to affordable, hospital-grade disinfection for work, education, and hospitality, R-Zero partnered with Bould Design and BC Mechanical Design, to develop the Arc, a groundbreaking UV-C disinfection device.

Co-founders Ben Boyer, Grant Morgan, and Eli Harris formed R-Zero in the early stages of the COVID 19 pandemic with the goal of rapidly delivering affordable, advanced disinfection technology to everyday environments in need. They found existing solutions were expensive, inaccessible, and ill-suited for commercial use and saw an opportunity to make a difference. The R-Zero Arc, their first product, provides hospital-grade disinfection, third party verified, at a fraction of the price of existing equipment.

Bould Design worked closely with R-Zero and BC Mechanical Design to craft and deliver a product that was lightweight and nimble, yet stable and reliable. The striking, intuitive design is easily operated by small business owners and housekeeping staff. The design process was unique as the product was designed entirely under lockdown, with only brief, socially-distanced meetings for prototype testing.

Arc is already being adopted by restaurants, schools, and hotels, and R-Zero continues to work towards a world where we once again feel safe in our physical environments.
