bould design collaborated with the lyft team to give the iconic amp a refresh. the new design is smaller, simpler and more capable. the compact, sculpted module shape sits smartly on the dashboard and broadcasts the lyft’s status or signals that your ride has arrived. when not in use, the new form fits more conveniently in any of a car's various storage compartments.

other updates include cleanly embedding the flowing translucent white lyft logo into the curved front surface and introducing a lower cost yet more dynamic led array enabling more artful, mesmerizing lighting effects. improved performance and lower cost is always a welcome combination.

in addition to the exterior design, bould design helped to define the lighting stack that delivers a superlative experience. we tested multiple led arrays and diffusion materials to ensure that daylight visibility was assured while not overspending on led’s. we also developed the part and molding strategy that allowed the lyft logo to be seamlessly integrated into the front surface with minimal surface disruption or lighting artifact.
