Roku Streambar and Vestaboard Win Red Dot Product Design Awards

Bould Design is pleased to announce the Roku Streambar and the Vestaboard have won Red Dot Product Design Awards! Each year, Red Dot convenes an international panel of design experts to judge thousands of products on their form, function and level of innovation, awarding only the best among them. The Red Dot symbol is widely recognized as a mark of good design.

The Roku Streambar is part of an entirely new product category invented by Roku. It turns a regular TV into a smart TV with great sound by integrating powerful streaming technology and Dolby Audio™ into a compact unit that fits neatly under the TV, instantly upgrading content and audio at the same time. This award is the fifth Red Dot Award for the Roku audio product line, with the Roku Smart Soundbar, Wireless Subwoofer, Wireless Speaker, and Touch Remote having won the prestigious award in prior years.

Vestaboard is a wonderfully mechanical, yet digitally controlled split-flap display designed to connect and inspire people. In an age where everywhere you look, another LCD display is foisting unwanted information, Vestaboard provides a platform for the written word and color composition to once again be celebrated. Poetry, quotes, heartfelt messages, and beautiful color patterns can all be delivered with an element of captivating mechanical wonder. The Vestaboard ‘Bits’ produce a lively, fluttering sound when the letters are spinning, alerting all those around to a new message or composition. A phone app and web interface allow users to easily post messages and designs. The 132 Bits display letters, numbers, punctuation and all the colors of the rainbow.
