R-Zero Raises $41.5m Series B
R-Zero, the biosafety company with a vision to create a world without sick days, has raised a Series B round of funding totaling $41.5 million. R-Zero was founded in 2020 in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when founders Grant Morgan, Eli Harris, and Ben Boyer realized how vulnerable we still are to infectious disease and the urgent need for innovation in the disinfection space.
UV-C disinfection has long been the gold standard for hospitals and healthcare facilities but has never been widely accessible due to the extreme cost of owning and operating these systems. R-Zero partnered with Bould Design and BC Mechanical Design to design and ship Arc, a hospital-grade UV-C disinfection system that can be operated for a fraction of the price of existing systems. In the first three months after launching the product, R-Zero had booked over $5 million in sales as schools, hospitality establishments, sports and entertainment venues, and other businesses have quickly adopted the technology to protect the health and safety of their employees and customers. Bould Design continues to support R-Zero as their design partner as they look to develop new hardware solutions that can provide continuous, automated disinfection.
